Golf in Madeira

The Madeira Archipelago offers excellent conditions for practicing golf in idyllic scenery, bathed by the blue sea and the green of the local vegetation. A dream for golfers, Madeira gives three distinct fields, each with its features and conditions, which are aimed at creating a unique experience for golfers.

Palheiro Golfe

Surrounded by gardens of Quinta do Palheiro, this provides a view of the bay of Funchal, the Atlantic Ocean and the Desert Islands, while 18 holes are played, a length over six kilometers. This was designed by Cabell Robinson in 1993, which integrated this field in Quinta Park area Palheiro and requires great concentration to the fast and excellent green, a camp for all levels and handicaps.

Clube de Golf Santo da Serra

One of the most spectacular golf courses in Europe, which offers a view of the mountains and ocean mass. This built in 1937 and in 1991, was redesigned by Robert Trent Jones. This is a short distance from Funchal, a little more than 15 minutes from Madeira International Airport. It contains 27 holes, characterized by generous fairways and greens and enables a choice of positions of the tees, favoring all abilities.

Campo de Golfe do Porto Santo

This field provides unique challenges that are drowned out by the view of the lines north and south coast of the island, which gets involved by the sea breeze and offering excellent conditions, golfers seek this field all year. This course was designed by the Spanish champion Severiano Ballesteros, with two loops of nine holes with par 72 and one with par 3, Pitch and Put that enable beginners and experienced golfers a relaxed activities but with challenges.
