Taking advantage of the unique sea wealth, Machico is proud of its beaches, some with a little human touch, while preserving the essence of nature.

The Beach Banda d’ Além is in the Machico Bay, this beach artificial yellow sand is supervised during the bathing season, offering a perfect day with family and friends. It also provides infrastructure support, such as changing rooms and booth to change clothes, bathrooms, bathrooms, showers and parking.

The Alagoa Beach is in the parish of Porto da Cruz, with its black sand, this beach is characterized by its mountain overlooking the sea. With regard to bathing complex, Machico has two, the bathing complex of Caniçal, which opened in 2003 and contains two saltwater pools, one for adults and one for children and also has direct access to the sea. In the snack bar area, it is provided a view of the Atlantic Ocean. This complex also has changing rooms, sun loungers and parasols sun. It is open Monday to Sunday from 10h00 to 19h00 in the summer.
