Peneda-Gerês National Park

This park consists of all the granitic mountains of Gerês, Soajo, Peneda and granitic mountains Yellow, among the oaks that dominate the vegetation of this park and endemic species like the lily and the fetus of Gerês or the famous St. John’s wort, live here thousands of animals that share the skies, the lands and waters of this park, such as the Iberian wolf (Canis lupus), the roe deer (capreolus capreolus), the ibex (Capra pyrenaica) and even ponies.
Also highlighting the stands here this remained the Roman period, the village of Castro Laboreiro, Pitões of Junia, Lindoso, Soajo and Tourém are unique elements in this verdant expanse bluish, due to its proximity to watercourses. From the bottom of the valleys, both the green agricultural areas as brownish stand that express the pace of cultures over a year; climbing the slopes, the grazing grounds is the cattle feeds to provide food for the cooler times of the year.
