The Campos do Pereiro

The Carreiro da Senhora

  • Location: Alenquer municipality, parishes of Cabanas de Torres and Vila Verde dos Francos; county Cadaval Lamas parish
  • Route type: circular, nonsignaled
  • Starting point and arrival: Largo da Faia, Cabanas de Torres
  • Distance: 22 km
  • Altitude: Maximum 648 m (6.4 km – St. John); minimum 150 m
  • Duration: eight hours
  • Degree of difficulty: high
  • Degree of difficulty: altaAvisos: involves the circulation paved municipal road, so it requires particular care with motor vehicles; atmospheric conditions high in the mountains can change rapidly, particularly wind, rain, temperature drop and above decreased visibility due to cloud cover, it is recommended the use of proper clothing, mapping and GPS; this route allows a visit to the National Forest of Quinta da Serra (Interpretation Centre, Royal Ice Factory).
